All physicians registered or admitted to the Institution of Physicians of Alicante, as well as the administrators of Professional Societies registered in the Institution Register, have the right to consultation. The right to consultation must be exercised personally, or exceptionally by the spouse authorized to do so.
Services shall be free of charge when they refer to matters related to the practice of the profession, except in legal proceedings that are of economic interest to the member. The fees of Court Attorneys, Experts, Notaries and other professionals other than Lawyers shall be paid by the member.
In the event of professional liability, the member shall be responsible through the appropriate compulsory insurance policy of the public health or private policy that must be contracted, under the conditions established by such policies.
Through the member’s policy or, as the case may be, the public or private Civil Liability Policy subscribed by the member, assistance in cases of aggressions or threats shall be totally free of charge, including the fees of the Lawyer and Attorney of the Courts.
Non-professional matters
In the case of matters not directly related to the practice of the profession, the first consultation shall be free of charge, and fees shall be paid for subsequent steps and legal proceedings. In such a case, the initiation of any procedure or action shall be subject to the prior acceptance of the member by means of the appropriate professional assignment form, which shall necessarily contain a fee estimate.
Legal assistance to the members of this institution will be provided in relation to state legislation, Valencian regional legislation and the provisions of the local corporations of the province of Alicante, and in the jurisdictional scope of the courts and tribunals of the province of Alicante.
The Legal Department may not defend the interests of any collegiate when these are in conflict with those of another or other collegiate. If it is a matter of differences between collegiad@s, should be raised before the Board of Directors of the Institution the conflict that confronts them so that it performs the mediation function that is statutorily attributed.

The Lawyers will attend, within the scope of their respective competencies, at the headquarters of the College of Physicians, by face-to-face, telephone or e-mail consultation, Mondays and Thursdays, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
Urgent matters
In the event that the matter does not admit delay, the institution will communicate with the Lawyer to whom the assistance corresponds.
Face-to-face consultation
For face-to-face consultations, appointments must be made in advance through the Institution office. Appointments will have an estimated duration of half an hour.
Telephone consultation
The telephone consultation modality is foreseen for those questions that, due to their brevity, can be resolved by telephone without the need to travel. The telephone consultation must be requested through the office, and the telephone numbers indicated must be called. The lawyer in charge of resolving the consultation will contact the client once the personal attention service has been completed at the Institution’s head office.
